Today we have the pleasure of introducing one of our stars – Martin.
Martin has been with us since 2015 and in that time has shown the up most dedication to our fantastic customers, consistently providing the level of service that we are proud of. We asked the below questions to Martin and here are his answers.
Can you tell us a little about yourself?
My name is Martin. I’ve lived in Woking the best part of my life and love the area. I enjoy what Woking has to offer with the good connections to London and the Country side you get the best of both worlds here. I enjoy keeping active and being part of the community.
How did you become part of the Mayer team?
I joined the removals team out of recommendation from my Mum who was already part of the cleaning team at Mayer. She told me of an opening and I applied for the role, starting about 2 weeks after my first interview. I was quickly made to feel at ease with the team that I trained with, having fun and keeping busy doing a good job was just what I was looking for.
What is it about working with Mayer that you liked the most?
It’s hard to pin point one example. I would have to point out the way we are rewarded for doing well. Not just within the company, but also from our customers. After a hard days work moving someone into a new home, it’s great to get the good feedback and see their happy faces. Job satisfaction is something that’s key for me.
Any tips and tricks you can offer?
When moving house, it’s clear which customers have moved many times before and which this is the first time for. The clue is in the preparation. My best tip for any person moving house is to label as much as you can. Having well labelled boxes will really help after moving into a place when at midnight you’re searching which box has the phone charger in it.
