It has been said for a long time that if your house is tidy then you feel better within yourself. You feel accomplished so that you can get into the right frame of mind. I am sure you will agree that having a space that’s clear and cutter free sure makes a different to your over all peace of mind.<\/p>\n
I know that when things are clear and tidy, not only are there less distractions, but it allows my mind to focus on the tasks ahead and not worry about the ones behind. Perhaps I’ve got an important event coming up that I need to plan for that needs my attention, but with a messy house I’m not able to put my 100% into it until the mess is cleared.<\/p>\n
I’ve found that for me that after Christmas, the start of the new year, this is the perfect time to spring into action and clear the mess. Out with the old after Christmas has brought in so much new. This time of year suits me well too as i’m an Summer person, so tend to stay indoors and keep warm away from the frost, and this makes perfect use of the time.<\/p>\n
The truth is that most of us have too much stuff just lying around or (almost as bad) shoved into cupboards that are so full that it’s hard to find anything when you want it. I am guilty of both situations.<\/p>\n
My tip is to start with clothes, books and letters. These are easy as you can often see when something is past it’s time due to the now poor condition. I then move on to the “harder” items such as photos, letters, sentimental items. I often find these harder to decide to keep or not, but can often give me the most space back.<\/p>\n
It may seem like such a simple idea, however it is quite amazing how much tidying up clutter and mess around the home can tidy up your mind.<\/p>\n
